Winter storage

You make an appointment with us when you bring your yacht and we usually plan it the same week for cranes. We work with a 20-ton column crane and can hunt yachts up to 15 meters. Thanks to our extensive experience and good cooperation within our team, this is done in peace and care. We naturally take all weather conditions into account.

Out of the water and then?
Your yacht is sprayed with a high-pressure cleaner at the spraying station and then placed on a suitable head. The hull is then washed in its entirety, so your yacht enters the hall clean.

Indoor storage
After a few days, when your yacht is completely dried up, it is covered with foil so that it stays clean during the winter. The gas bottles go out and the power goes off. This is due to fire hazard. We go on board a number of times during the winter to see if everything is in order. The batteries are fully charged and then disconnected. This too has to do with safety. In principle, no work is done in the winter storage, unless it is ‘clean’ work, such as brushing. This is always done in consultation with us. If you still want to perform certain activities that are not possible in the hall, there is often the option of moving your yacht. The halls are always clean and tidy and are completely cleaned inside every year. The winter storage is an enclosed space, so no strangers can reach your yacht. As our customer, you will of course get access.

Outdoor storage
If you opt for outdoor storage, you have the option to cover your yacht with a winter cover. We prefer not to set sail yachts on the side. A mast catches a lot of wind. As your yacht is landed and held up by stamps, the forces that the mast transfers to the hull eventually end up at the stamps. This can have major harmful consequences for your hull in strong winds.

Basic costs that apply to every customer:

• Crane costs
• We charge the costs for ‘out’ in the autumn and for ‘out in’ in the spring.
• Various costs (environmental costs, battery charging, renting a goat, etc.)

Fixed quotes
In addition, there are costs for the maintenance of your yacht. We work with fixed quotes, so you know what the maintenance costs are during the winter. A lot is possible within our company and most of the work is done in-house. In addition, we also work together with regular suppliers. You can think of a sailmaker, rigger and upholsterer. You state what your wishes are and we take care of the total package for you. We contact the suppliers and ensure that the work is carried out satisfactorily. Finding a suitable winter storage is difficult for many water sports enthusiasts. The difference in providers is large. Prices differ and the service provision is difficult to compare. Scandinavian Yachts is not the cheapest, but we treat your valuable property with great care and have the right knowledge and experience to be able to deliver good quality. In our eyes, that is what it’s all about. We can provide the right care for every budget.

Our relationship with the customer is usually for the long term. Trust and good communication are the basis for this. Every order, whether it is storage or a work order, is preceded by a written quotation. We will keep you informed during the winter storage with photos.

Every yacht has its own story
A record is kept of every yacht that we maintain. This contains all technical data of all technology on board. This way you also have an overview of what work has been done and when maintenance has been done on your yacht. It offers us the opportunity to provide efficient service.
